NOVICE   LEAGUE   GAME   SUMMARIES
POST SEASON PARTIES:
The Ravens held their party at L&B Pizzeria.   Dameon's mom had everything organized to perfection.   We pre-ordered our meals so the meals were ready without a wait, we had plenty of space, and the food was great.   The kids thought their record was 14 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie, but no one kept track of course.

REGULAR SEASON GAMES:

The Tigers were led by #33 who got 6 points. #11 and #40 each scored 2 points for the Tigers in the first half also. The second half of basketball was just as close as the first half with the Owls winning another thriller. Tyler led the Owls in scoring in the second half with 7 points; Kevin was right behind with 6 points in the second half and ended up the games leading scorer with 10 points. Great hustle and energy by both teams!

Panthers vs. Owls     02/03/02
The Owls and Panthers played an entertaining game for the fans in this high scoring, fast paced game. The first half was an up and down the court exciting game with the Owls coming out on top 22 to 13. Kevin and Tyler each scored 8 points for the Owls on some excellent shooting and aggressive steals for layups in the first half. Christian added 4 points and Ramon got a bucket for the Owls also. #34 scored 7 points for the Panthers in the first half on some outstanding play and hustle, and #35; #20 and #50 each contributed with a bucket for the Panthers in the first half of play. The second half saw much the same kind of productive offense and tough defense for the Owls. Kevin added another 8 points for the Owls in the second half to end the game with 16 points. Ravens versus Lions     (1/13/2002)
In the second game of the season for both teams, the Ravens outscored the Lions in both halves.   The Ravens had balanced scoring with Martha (#10), Dameon (#22), John (#11), Dario (#12), and Jason (#33) all getting in the scoring column.   Ashley, Ashleigh, and Megan did a great job rebounding, defending, and shooting.   Adam plays his guard position with a lot of skill, and has learned how to set a pick and use a pick.   The Lions played a good defensive game stealing the ball from us on numerous occasions.   Both teams played hard and showed great sportsmanship.

Panthers versus Gators     (1/27/2002)
With only 6 players the Gators could not overcome the balanced attack of the Panthers.   Offensively, Jarrod led the Panthers in scoring which included several baskets on breakaway lay-ups after a steal.   Also playing a strong offensive game was Anuj with solid shooting. Cornelius led the Panthers in rebounding and also scored. Chris played an excellent defensive game by setting picks and making 2 steals.   Alex contributed defensively as well and made a number of rebounds and assists.   Trevor and Evan played strong low post defense, with Trevor making several rebounds.   Simone and Harshul also scored.   The Gators played hard all the way.   Carter and Paul scored for the Gators.   Both teams played a great game.

Panthers versus Tigers     (1/13/2002)
The Panthers and the Tigers met in the season opener, with the Panthers gaining both wins: 8 to 0 in the first half and 14 to 8 in the second half. With both teams playing solid defense, but the Panthers offence was too much to overcome; Trevor, Anuj, Harshul each scored 6 points and Jarrod added 4 points. The Tigers scoring was led by Corey with 4 points. Devin and Tony added 2 points each for the Tigers. Both teams showed great teamwork.

Ravens versus Wildcats     (1/13/2002)
In the first game of the season for both teams, the Ravens outscored the Wildcats in both halves.   Dario's quickness allowed him to intercept several passes.   Seth drove the length of the court and scored several points.   Jason rebounded well and attempted many shots from his center position.   The Wildcats were determined and played a great game.

Owls and Gators     (1/13/2002)
In the first game of the season for both teams, the Owls outscored the Gators in both halfs.   The Owls pressure defense and excellent rebounding was the difference in the game.   The hard work in practices on defense and rebounding paid off!   Kevin Tatum led the Owls in scoring.   Tyler Clark, Christian Gravatt, and Anthony Rafsky played great as well for the Owls each scoring several points.   The Gators were led by Kingsly, scoring several points.   The Gators played hard and tough, but could not overcome the balanced attack of the Owls.
